Certificated Surveyor in Remedial Treatments

In 1985, Paul started his apprenticeship working for a large company for 5 Years, increasing his knowledge and experience in the building industry along with other trades working on historic Grade 1 & Grade 2 Listed Buildings.

This experience assisted Paul in developing a greater understanding of buildings and their method of construction, and the types of materials used in their construction.

Paul then went on to gain a higher level of understanding of the Preservation industry when he later joined a Specialist Preservation company as a Technician. He later then set up a contracting business designed to carry out chemical damp proofing and timber preservation. Paul traded this company until 2015.

In 2017, with over 30 years of experience in the industry, Paul formed his own surveying business, Paul Newland Specialist Surveyor, which is set out to providing professional services to residential & commercial property owners and property managers, who's properties have been affected by dampness, timber decay and ground water penetration. The company provides independent specialist surveys with full written reports and a full set of recommendations of which can be used in order to obtain firm quotations from contracting companies. The benefit here is that all contractors will be supplying quotations based upon one accurate report and recommendations rather than misdiagnosing or elaborating on areas that are not affected.

Professional training and examination at the PCA (property care association), provided Paul with qualifications in CSRT (certified surveyor in remedial treatment) and CSSW (certified surveyor in structural waterproofing).
